American Express Sues Lotus Resident, Says Amex Centurion Card Unpaid.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man listed as an investment advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission allegedly owes American Express $394,658.68 charged to an Amex Centurion card. American Express is now suing him in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.
According to documents obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Geoffrey Deller of Blue Bayou Drive in the Lotus community of West Boca Raton submitted multiple checks in the amount of $99,999.99 to Amex. They all bounced. So did one for $94,658.70.
It was not immediately clear for how long Mr. Deller has had an apparent payment problem, or what he may have spent $394,658 on. We do know that he purchased his house for $983,000 in August of 2021 and is not facing any other litigation in Palm Beach County.
The suit by American Express seeks a non-jury verdict. The good news for Deller: it appears roughly $30,000 can be “paid over time.” It was not immediately clear if Deller had retained an attorney. Or a financial advisor.
